Amarillo, Texas - LoRee Booth, 83, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.

LoRee Aline Johnson was born July 29, 1932 in Guymon, Ok to Opal (Weeks) and Milton Johnson. She spent her teenage years with her Aunt Emma and Uncle Russell Weeks and cousin/sister, Phyllis Rae Weeks. They loved her and encouraged her as their daughter. LoRee was united in marriage to John Kirby Booth on September 3, 1949 in Raton, NM. They were married 64 years.

LoRee was a kind and gentle person who loved children of all ages. She became a vocational nurse in 1967 and provided many years of devoted care. She helped take care of many relatives and friends and worked in Spearman as a nurse in Hansford Hospital and the nursing home for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Spearman until she and John moved to Amarillo in 2007.

LoRee was an adoring "Nettie" and hands-on grandmother to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was never too busy to sit and play cards and games, especially Dominoes with her grands. Her love of sports including OU football and Ranger baseball, was notorious.

LoRee was preceded in death by her parents, her sister LaMoyne; and her husband John Kirby Booth who died May 15, 2014. She is survived by Dorothy Armstrong of Liberal Kansas and Douglas Johnson of Kismet, KS.

LoRee's children are Richard John Booth and wife Rebecca; Carol Joan Booth Hergert; Dwayne Booth; and Teresa Jean Booth McCurdy and husband Mickey of Amarillo. Grandchildren are Clayton Neil and Brooke Hergert of Cedar Park, TX; Mary Kathryn Booth McGraw and Wilson McGraw of Hampstead, NC; Blair Aline McCurdy Snow and Chris Snow of Amarillo; Kirby Keith and Lindsay Hergert of San Diego, CA,; Sarah Rebecca Booth Pierce and Stephen Pierce of Amarillo; Gena Marie McCurdy Fox of Amarillo; Kami and Chris Ray of Lubbock; Michael and Dawn Abbott of Lubbock; and Trudy and Jason Sargent of Yukon, OK. There are numerous precious great grands of all ages. The family wishes to recognize a special caregiver, Holly Sanson of Amarillo for her dedicated loving care of Nettie resulting in her being able to stay in her own home enjoying many family members and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday December 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the First Christian Church, 29 South Bernice in Spearman. Graveside services will be Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, Ok. Arrangements are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.

The family has asked that in lieu of floral gifts, memorials be given to Hansford Manor, Wounded Warriors, or T.A.P.S (Tragedy Assistance for veterans and survivors) in c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
