Words can not describe how I felt when I heard of Greg's passing. I met Greg in the 9th grade and we quickly became good friends. Hanging out in Goodwell after school not getting into to much trouble. Many good times and good memories. Although we haven't spoken in many years I always considered him a life long friend. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences and sympathy to the Gardner family in this difficult time.

Liz and family ,
So sorry for your loss, I will pray that God will give you peace and understanding. I remember Greg as the little brother of my brothers best friend and you Liz, I call a good friend. He was a friend and neighbor. Losing a brother is not an easy thing and a younger one at that. Again, my prayers will be for you and your family.

On Tuesday I heard of the passing of Greg Gardner. He and I have been friends since I was 12 years old.

The tragedy is, despite the fact that I still consider him my best friend, I had not talked to him in years. I have moved away, and he has been busy during the few times I was close to Oklahoma; but we had spent years not talking without it affecting our friendship. I always knew the same would happen here, and it never occurred to me that he could pass before I saw him again.

I did not even know he was ill! I should have realized: many times in our younger days Greg told me he did not expect a long life, but of course I never believed it.

I still do not believe he is gone, and as I attempt to work and interact with colleagues I will suddenly think "54 years!" and find myself either unreasonably angry that I could have missed my chances to talk with him all these years, or close to tears.

He was one of the finest human beings I have known, and my life was immeasurably enriched in knowing him.

He will be truly missed, and my condolences go to his family and friends. We have all lost someone who is truly irreplaceable.

I was so sorry to hear of Greg's passing. He and my brother, James, were good friends growing up and Greg spent a lot of time at our house. In fact, he took me to his senior prom. Such a funny, quirky guy!
I know he will be missed. I'm sorry for your loss. God bless.

So many memories from high school seem include Science class and Mr. Gardner.

Your passion for teaching was unquestionable, and your sincere concern for your students was unbiased and unwavering. You will truly be missed and forever remembered. It is often said teachers may never really know the impact they have on their students, but to Mr. G's family....his legacy of commitment, diligence, and humor is hard to find and will continue to be difficult to duplicate.

"G", thank you for everything you taught me and the patience you had with me when I was being a knucklehead. The impact you had on the students you taught is immeasurable. I know I would not have had the interest in programming and computers in general if it wasn't for your classes. Your humor always made us all laugh and that's the way I will choose to remember you. Rest easy.

"G" you will always be remembered and missed by all you taught. You taught with such passion and love for learning and of science that it pushed even a girl like me to try and take classes I obviously should NOT have never been trying. You took time away from your cool life to tutor me and kept things honest with me when you knew I couldn’t handle my self-imposed homework load, you also had no trouble tell me when enough was enough when I wasn’t in the mood to learn. You are one of the few teachers I still talk about to this day and for sure my kids know you and about ‘Rosie’. You're the best "G” RIP my teacher, my friend until we meet again.....
