Curtis Stuard, 58, longtime Hardesty resident, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Curtis Glen Stuard was born to JoAnn (Wilkins) and John Lee Stuard on October 23, 1957 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Curtis graduated from Hardesty High School in 1976 and went on to study the diesel mechanic program at Liberal Vo-Tech, Liberal, Kansas. Curtis was a truck driver for many years, hauling cattle and later drove a truck for Swift and Company out of Guymon. Curtis also worked in construction on the Optima Dam and worked for 5 years as an offshore driller in the Gulf of Mexico. He was a member of Hardesty First Baptist Church, but had been attending the Hardesty Community Church.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Stuard of Hardesty; sister, Joletha Nall of Eagle Nest, NM; and his greatest love and faithful dog, Pook. Curtis was preceded in death by his father, John Stuard (1992), sister, Billie Ercanbrack (1997); niece, Christy Wilkins (1997); grandfather Curt Wilkins (1952) and his grandmother, Oletha Smith (2001).
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, June 9th, 10:00 AM at the Hardesty Community Church, with neighbor and friend, Chris Liebman and Rev. Casey Drew, pastor of Hardesty Community Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon, with arrangements by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.
