April 7, 1930 ~ January 8, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old

KETCHUM, William Arnold (86), loving husband, Dad and Grandpa, passed away peacefully on January 8, in Guymon, OK where for the past 5 years he has been lovingly cared for by granddaughter, Lynette Helm and her family Earl and Mackenzie Helm.

Bill was born in Hazard, KY leaving at the age of 15 to join the Army and then later served in the Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a SMSgt. He was one of the first computer programmers for the Air Force working on the Univac 1050. He enjoyed woodworking, helping Eleanor in the Garden, country and western music. Lynette and Earl along with their kids, Stacy, Shane and MacKenzie remember all the great times they had visiting him and grandma in Colorado Springs. And, especially his great imitation of Elvis.

Bill leaves behind his beloved wife of 36 years, Eleanor; daughters Sherry Whetzel, Debbie Nieport, and Angie Younger; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; and siblings John Jr, Lillie Mae, Hazel, Frank, and James.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sara Belle Ketchum, siblings, Mason, Eugene and Irene; and son LCpl William A. Ketchum, Jr.

Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Henson-Novak Chapel with Odie Nunley officiating.

Family asks that in In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to The Dunaway Manor Nursing Home, 1401 N. Lelia St., Guymon, OK, for the loving care Bill received from the staff.
