Dorothy Frantz

Dorothy A. (Dottie) Frantz, 94, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Heritage Community, Guymon, Oklahoma.

The daughter of Neloma Emma (Lee) and William Daniel “W.D.” Wilbourn, Dorothy Alene Wilbourn was born April 21, 1923 in Kiowa(Pittsburgh County) Oklahoma. After high school, she graduated from business school.  She was united in marriage to Jack Cullen Frantz on October 5, 1949 in Clayton, New Mexico. Dottie had worked at KGYN Radio, for the Texas County Sherriff for many years and later for the Texas County Assessor’s Office.  Mrs. Frantz was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church.  After retirement, her favorite job was “Granny” to her adored grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Jacalyn (Jackie) and husband, Jeff Spain of Guymon; sister, Neva Jo Kampfer of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Spain and wife, Sara of Orlando, Florida; and Kelli Johnson and husband, Colby of McKinney, Texas; and three great grandchildren, Cullen and Carter Spain and Meyer Grace Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cullen Frantz in 2005; three sisters, Edith Clements, Wilmoth (Bellamy) Cate and Lois Rice; and two brothers, John Wilbourn and Wayne Wilbourn.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, May 8th, 1:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 310 NW 7th, Guymon, with Rev. Linda Sherry, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, 5:00-7:00 PM at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon. 

Memorials may be donated to Heritage Community or the Presbyterian Discovery Academy Scholarship Fund.
