Texhoma, Oklahoma – Arturo G.  Miramontes, 66, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 18, 2017, at Morton County Hospital, Elkhart, Kansas.

The son of Margarita and Jose Miramontes, Arturo Gonzalez Miramontes was born November 4, 1950 in Chihuahua, Mexico.  He was united in marriage to Nestora Chavez in 1980 in El Reno, Nevada.  The family had lived in Elkhart before moving to Texhoma, Oklahoma.  He had worked for Prestige Farms for many years and had recently retired.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Guymon.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nestora, of the home in Texhoma; two daughters, Belia Miramontes of Texhoma and Wendy Miramontes of Guymon; three sisters, Consuelo Solano and husband, Ramon, of Tracy, California; Ramona Medina and Anna Miramontes, both of Modesto, California; two brothers, Reymundo Miramontes of Juarez, Mexico; and Gilberto Miramontes and wife, Helena, of El Paso, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Maria Gambora and a brother, Jose Miramontes.

The Rosary will be said Thursday evening, February 23rd, 6:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel, 501 NW Fifth Street, Guymon.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday morning, February 24th, 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1220 North Quinn, Guymon, with Father Raul Sanchez, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
