Zena Walker, 66-year-old resident of Boise City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday April 19, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas after a 5 year battle with cancer.
Zena Lee Nobles, was born on August 14th, 1956 in Boise City, Oklahoma to her parents; Lillian and Arthur Nobles. Zena grew up in Cimarron County and attended the Boise City Schools and graduated with the class of 1974.
She worked for over 30 years with ODOT (Oklahoma Dept. of Transportation) where she was like a mother to many and was also a special friend. On January 8th, 1976, Zena was united in marriage to Wayne Walker at St. Paul’s Methodist Church.
Zena and Wayne made their forever home in Boise City. But she always wanted to be able to travel the country and see the magnificent sites. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her two grandchildren: Lillee and Zuchriya, often caring for them and having them visit Boise City for weeks during the summer and winter holidays. She lived for her grandchildren and the adventures they had.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: Aaron and one brother; Allen Nobles
Zena is survived by her husband of 47 years: Wayne Walker of the home; one daughter: Kami Lee Walker and husband Amir Haq of Louisville, Kentucky. One sister Connie Williams and husband Terry of Trinity, Texas. One brother: Jon Nobles and wife Leigh Ann of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Two grandchildren: Lillee and Zuchriya.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00 P.M at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Boise City with Chantry Davis and Pastor Kim Mizer officiating.
