Wesley Fick Obituary

Wesley Mason Fick, 61, of Guymon, Oklahoma passed away February 17, 2020 at his home. Wesley was born January 7, 1959 in Borger, Texas, the son of Harold and Iva Lance Fick. He attended school in Borger graduating from Borger High School with the class of 1977. He then attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, where he received his bachelor’s degree in marketing. 

Wesley was united in marriage to Teresa Adams on August 14, 1982 at the Lutheran church in Perryton, Texas. They then moved to Graham, Texas where Wesley worked for Farm Bureau Insurance. He later worked for Hexcel until 1992. While working at Hexcel he continued his education at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. In the fall of 1992, they moved to Perryton Texas with their first-born son, Zachary. Wesley worked for an accounting firm while living in Perryton. They welcomed their second child, Adam, in 1995. That same year they moved to a small family farm south of Goodwell, Oklahoma, where they resided for 10 years. In 2006, they moved just outside of Texhoma, Oklahoma. While there, Wesley taught 6th grade at Optima Schools. In 2012, the family moved to Straight, Oklahoma where Wesley taught the 3rd grade. In 2016 the family moved to Guymon and Wesley began teaching 4th grade at Academy elementary.

Wesley was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon where he was currently serving as an Elder. He also taught Sunday school to elementary aged kids. He was involved with organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Kids Inc., and Rotary Club.  He was very proud of his two boys and all their accomplishments, such as obtaining the honor of Eagle Scout. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Iva Fick; his two brothers John Fick and Christopher Fick; and one sister Lydia Marie McKnight.

 Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Teresa, of the home; two sons, Zachary Fick of Guymon and Adam Fick of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two brothers Harold Fick Jr. of Borger, Texas, Leo Fick and wife Victoria with their two kids Krystal and Joshua of Austin, Texas; and one sister Sally Fick of Borger, Texas.  

Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, Lutherhaven Church Camp or Trinity Lutheran Church; or to the charity of the donor’s choice which may be left at Henson-Novak, Box 1306, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. 

Visitation for Wesley will be held Thursday February 20th, 2020 at Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon, Oklahoma from 1:00 P.M till 8:00 P.M 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 21st, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon, Oklahoma with Rev. Andrew Wehling officiating.

Interment will be in the Goodwell Cemetery near Goodwell, Oklahoma directed by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
