Wayne Cox

Wayne Cox, 81-year-old Guymon, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Heritage Community in Guymon.

 Wayne Cox was born January 20, 1942 in Midland, Texas to William and Eula (Farrington) Cox.

He attended the Spearman, Texas public school system graduating with the class of 1960. After college Billy worked for Coca-Cola, Mead bread, Homeland and Ideal grocery stores as assistant manager and store manager.

In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, walking and spending time with family.

On June 1, 1964 Wayne was united in marriage to Brenda Morgan in Sunray, Texas. They made their home in Spearman until moving to Guymon in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Zachary Cox and daughter Heather Cox.

Wayne is survived by one aunt: Era Burt of Woodward, several cousins Robert Cox and wife Brenda of Woodward and Patty Mills and husband Dale of Hooker, Oklahoma, Lois Foster, David Stansell and Thelma Garner.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Henson-Novak Funeral Home in Guymon with Rev. Michael Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Guymon and will be accepted by the funeral home.
