Tommy Batie Obituary

Tommy Batie 66-year-old resident of Miami, Oklahoma passed away on October 14th at Freeman Hospital  in Joplin Missouri.

Tommy Batie was born on December 13th, 1953 in Neosho Missouri. As a young boy, he grew up on a farm outside Keyes Ok.  Tommy worked on a farm and that is what he loved.  He was passionate about country music and playing the guitar, a trait he picked up from his mom and dad.  He loved watching old westerns and listening to country music in his free time.  Tommy loved to go fishing with his two sons Brian and Nolen.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and teaching them new things.  His family meant the world to him.

 Tommy Batie and Leah Strasner were blessed with three children Tara, Nolen and Brian.

Tommy Batie was preceded in death by his ex-wife Leah Strasner, his father Lenton David Batie, his mother Edith Gunter Batie, and brother Leonard Douglas Batie.

Tommy Batie is survived by Tara and Joe Portillo of Northlake Texas, Nolen and Chrystal Batie of Miama Oklahoma, Brian and Corrissa Batie of Bremerton Washington. Tommy is survived by 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  Tommy is survived by siblings Pamela Kathleen Hagman of Hugoton KS, Peggy Ann Boothby of Hugoton, KS, Joe Allen and Kathy Batie of Peoria Oklahoma, Linda Sue and Carl Burnett of Hugoton KS, David Wendell and Ginny Batie of Hugoton KS, Debbie Gay and Cliff Crawford of Mounds Ok, Lila Jane and Junior Cerecero of Park City KS.

Visitation will be  12:00 noon till 9:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2020 at Keyes United Methodist Church.

Graveside Memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 20th at 10:30 am at the Willow Bar Cemetery in Keyes, Oklahoma 73947

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Keyes United Methodist Church, 401 Jefferson Ave, Keyes Ok 73947
