Thelma Smart

Thelma Louise Smart, 94-year-old former resident of Guymon, Oklahoma passed away on March 31st, 2020 at Hilltop Manor Nursing Center in Cunningham, Kansas.

Thelma was born January 21st, 1926 in Mayfield, Oklahoma to John Whiteley and Carrie McCathern. She married her husband, Alvin Archie, January 18th, 1945 in Lefors, Texas and was a homemaker. 

Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, John Whiteley and Carrie McCathern, her husband, Alvin Archie, her sons Jerry and Kerry Smart, her daughter Sylvia Smart and her sister, Patsy Morrison and brother-in-law, Connie Morrison. 

She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Thompson and her husband, Eddy, of Pratt, Kansas, and by her son, Terry Smart and his wife, Kelly, of Sheridan, Wyoming, 5 grandchildren: Misty Tolbert of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Scott Thompson of Blue Springs, Missouri, Tate Thompson of Pratt, Kansas, Sam and Julia Smart of Sheridan, Wyoming and 13 great grandchildren: Madison, Makenzy, Mashala and Macalee Tolbert, Mace and Flynn Thompson and Kimberly, Hogan, Keishaune, Ke’Rel, Jadyn, Keimarla and Tiger Thompson.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 4th, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, Oklahoma with Rev. David Player officiating.
