Sherry Stephens 77-year-old resident of Guymon, Oklahoma went home to heaven at her home surrounded by her loving family on August 24, 2022.
Sherry Drew Bookless was born on December 10, 1944, at Beaver, Oklahoma to Robert and Barbara (Boston) Bookless. She attended the Guymon, Oklahoma public schools graduating with the class of 1962.
Sherry met the love of her life, Paul (Biggie) Stephens after he had hitchhiked to Guymon to visit his brother. Sherry and Paul married on October 25, 1962, in Poteau Oklahoma. They resided in Guymon for most of their married life. This union was blessed with three daughters: Paula, Terri and Michelle.
Sherry was a hairdresser, church secretary and drove the bus for Guymon schools during her working career. She was also part of the Prime Timers.
She and Paul opened their home to many, many foster children over the years providing a loving and caring foundation.
Sherry was always in attendance for all the grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. They affectionately referred to her as “Sugar”.
Sherry was given great peace and comfort from the praise and worship team at Connection Church. The church was one of Sherry’s favorite places to be. She loved her lord and savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Paul in 2012.
Left to carry on her legacy are three daughters: Paula Holden and wife Tammi of Peyton, Colorado, Terri McBee and husband Johnny of Guymon, Oklahoma and Michelle Gideon and husband David of Vinita, Oklahoma, six grandchildren: Rachelle Trimble and husband Michael, April Madrid, Cole Roark and wife Karli, Devin McBee, Eric Gideon, Christina Gideon and Jason Holden and wife Jenny, twelve great-grandchildren: Brookelyn Trimble, Tatum Trimble, Korbin Madrid, Kale Roark, Kade Raulston, Paisley Roark, Jeyton Trimble, Rance Roark, Dax Trimble, Dani Holden, Connor Holden and Halston Gideon, one brother Jerald Bookless and wife Renee of Colorado. Sherry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins along with many, many friends.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 Noon till 7:00 P.M on August 26, 2022, at The Henson Novak Funeral Home in Guymon.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Connection Church with Dr. Dallas McGlasson officiating. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
