Sandy Morris Obituary

Sandy was born October 21st, 1951, to parents Bob and Vera Morris in Amarillo, Texas.  She joined her sister Cheri and a few years later their baby brother David made them a family of five.

Sandy spent her childhood on many ranches and grew up attending schools in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.  Her fondest school memories and favorite stories to tell were of the Bivins School in Masterson, Texas and Dumas High School in Dumas, Texas graduating with the class of 1969. After graduation she attended the Amarillo School of Cosmetology then later taking secretarial classes from Seward Community College to learn shorthand and dictation.   Sandy  earned her paralegal from the University of Southern Colorado.

Sandy married and had two children Cory and Shawn and one granddaughter Tara Marlene who was her heart and joy for the last 21 years of her life.  Family was the greatest joy  in Sandy’s life.  She enjoyed the large family holidays and gatherings of her Morris family and getting to see all her nieces and nephew.  Taking care of her children, her granddaughter, and her parents in their last years were her priorities.

Sandy passed away in Dalhart, Texas on October 20, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Vera Morris, her son Shawn and niece Wendy Spears.  She is survived by daughter Cory, granddaughter Tara and Darrin Lakely, great-grandson; Hayden Lakely, Sister; Cheri Spears, brother; David and Jody Morris; nieces; Heather and Darren Cowley and child, Libby and Pat Schaper and children, Brianna & Bridget Spears and children, Ana and Ralph Avalos and children, and nephew Isaac Morris and children.
