Sandra Hamby Obituary

Sandra Hamby, 78-year-old former Keyes, Oklahoma resident passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Lawnwood Hospital in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Sandra Kay Hanson was born July 29, 1944 in Blue Rapids, Kansas to Gerald and Harriet (Walker) Hanson.

She attended Arcadia school system graduating with the class of 1962. After graduation she attended business school. She worked for several attorneys in the panhandle area. She also worked at Southwest Public Service and SPS in Amarillo, Texas. She helped in raising a couple of her younger siblings.

On July 26, 1998 she was united in marriage with Dick Hamby. He preceded her in death in 2006.

She loved horses, lighthouses, playing bingo, camping and just taking a ride in the car. Sandra especially loved spending time in church and with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one niece.

Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory two sisters: Beverly Chapman and husband John of Keyes and Deanie Burk of Clinton Missouri, one brother Gerald Hanson of Amarillo, Texas. She also leaves behind other special family members and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Keyes Baptist Church with Matt Montoya officiating. Interment will follow services at Willowbar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made out to First Baptist Church in Keyes with the funeral home accepting them.
