Royal Thompson

Royal (Roy) Thompson, 48 year old resident of Texhoma, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Royal Allen Thompson was born on November 19, 1975 in Amarillo, Texas to Ron and Debbie Thompson.  Roy was born into a family of Custom Harvesters and fell right into the routine of traveling from South Texas to the Canadian Border every year.  In 2002 Roy went to work for Texas County District 3 as a truck driver.  January 3, 2003, Roy experienced a type of paralysis that paralyzed him from the neck down.  Roy persevered and didn’t let it get him down.  Roy may have not been able to move, but he definitely had his mind and his mouth.  Which as anyone who knew him, knew that he voiced his opinions openly.

Roy was preceded in death by both sets of Grandparents and his father Ron Thompson.  He is survived by his mother, Debbie; Aunt Deedra (Darby) Aspegren of Carefree, Arizona; Aunt Luinda (Thompson) Karle of Sugar City, Colorado; many cousins, nieces and nephews along with numerous close friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, April 5th at Henson-Novak funeral home in Guymon, followed by Rosary Service at the Henson-Novak Chapel at 7:00 pm. 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Guymon. Interment to follow at Texhoma Cemetery.
