Roger Len Ottinger was born February 11, 1954 and woke up to be with Jesus February 7, 2022.
Roger was born in Boise City, Oklahoma to Guy & Gladys Ottinger. He was the eldest brother of Doug, Nolan, Larry, & Nancy.
Roger attended all 12 years of schooling in Boise City, graduating in 1972. He attended Panhandle State University and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education. While attending PSU, he participated in ROTC.
After graduating college, Roger returned to the family farm, where he lived. He enjoyed working alongside his dad & brothers. He looked forward to his monthly High Plains Journal, studying new ways to farm.
Roger loved his Lord, making Christ the Lord of his life at the age of nine. He loved his church family. He looked forward to the annual Cowboy Camp meeting each year. Roger loved his family, farming fishing, and football. He especially enjoyed spending time with his siblings & his many nieces and nephews. Affectionately known as Uncle Roger, each one was excited to see which unique gift he brought for them at Christmas- well thought out…so kind & generous. And, as a true Ottinger, he enjoyed good food.
Roger moved to Boise City to help care for his mom. He began working for the county in Boise City. Roger enjoyed going to work every day & the friendships that grew from his work.
Roger is preceded in death by his dad and one brother, Doug. He is survived by his mom, of the home, his brothers, Nolan & Larry & wife Vickie, all of Boise City, & his sister Nancy and husband Jim Sanders of Sayre, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on 1:30 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Wheeless Baptist Church with Pastor Galen Smith presiding. Interment will follow in Boise City Cemetery.
