Roger McMakin

Roger Lynn McMakin, 72, of Goodwell, Oklahoma passed away on June 22, 2022 at his residence in Goodwell. The son of Leo and Dorothy McMakin was born in Oklahoma City on December 3, 1949.

He attended school in Moore, Oklahoma until 1966 when the family moved to Goodwell. He graduated from Goodwell High School in 1968. He attended Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation from OSU he was commissioned as a second lieutenant into the United States Army.

After his discharge he worked as an engineer at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Upon retirement he returned to Goodwell. He was a member of Panhandle Centenary United Methodist Church in Goodwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Mary Margaret Strain.

He is survived by his brother Leo Patrick McMakin and wife Connie of Winter Springs, Florida and by his brother-in-law Rex Strain of Goodwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by a host of friends.

His services are pending and are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Home and will be announced at a later date.
