Rebecca Dayle “Becky” Alderete, 62, of Texhoma, Oklahoma passed away January 17, 2022 at Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon, Oklahoma.
Becky was born June 25, 1959 in Boise City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Roy and Claudia Haggard Whisennand. She attended and graduated from Keyes High School with the Class of 1977.
She grew up working in her parents cafe, The Pirates Cove, that later became Granny’s. She later inherited the cafe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claudie and Roy Whisennand, her grandmother Pearl Early, father in law, Henry Alderete and sister in law, Denise Shellnut.
Becky is survived by her son, Dale Alderete and wife, Mallory of Bowie Texas; daughter Tranette Alderete and Ty Gourd of Texhoma; brother, Lynn Whisennand and wife Kelly of Kerrville, Texas; sister, Ladena King of Cherokee, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Anderson, Addison and Annistyn Alderete of Bowie, Texas, Jaydlyn Noland of Texhoma; nieces and nephews, Farrah Seay, Desiree Koemany, Dre Whisennand, Breonna Kennedy, Corbyn and Carley Whisennand.
She loved entertaining friends and family by making sure they had a full belly. She loved everyone around her and always had a smile on her face. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Visitation will be on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Henson Novak Funeral Directors in Guymon, Oklahoma from 6: p.m to 8 p.m and at the church from 11 a.m until the time of service.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Keyes Baptist Church with burial to follow in Willow Bar Cemetery under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors in Guymon, Oklahoma.
