Raymon Lunsford Obituary

Raymon Dean Lunsford “Chub”, of Guymon, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, July 5th, 2020 at the age of 82 years old. After many tough years battling with his health, he died peacefully with his beloved wife, Patricia and their children, Kenny and Kim by his side.

Raymon was born on October 17th, 1937 in Elkhart, Kansas to Pete and Alta Lunsford. Growing up on the family farm, Raymon quickly learned the ropes from his father and after a lifetime of farming with his dad, Raymon was able to do the same and pass his knowledge on to his son, Kenny. Raymon was known for many things, his strong work ethic, being a fantastic husband, father and grandfather, but he will best be remembered for always having a good time with the people he loved.

In the 10th grade he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Samples “Pat,” and it was love at first snowball. As a young ornery boy, Raymon decided to make his move on Pat by throwing a flirtatious snowball right into Pat’s back and the rest is history.

Young and in love, they eagerly married right after graduating from Guymon High School on June 20th, 1957. They spent 68 inseparable years loving each other tremendously and making unforgettable memories from family trips, chasing kids and grandkids around, and dancing to all their favorite music together.

Anyone who knew “Chub” knows how incredibly strong he was, how much he loved his family and how even on the roughest days, he always tackled it with grace and thankfulness.

He was a true inspiration of a Godly man who loved wholeheartedly. He was so incredibly loved and will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Pete Lunsford and Alta Lunsford, and by his sister, Barbara Romain.

Raymon is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Lunsford of Guymon, Oklahoma; children, Kenny Lunsford of Guymon, Oklahoma and Kim Falls of Guymon, Oklahoma; 4 Grandchildren; Kayla Lunsford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kyler Lunsford of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kara Falls of Dallas, Texas and Kylie Dang of Dallas, Texas.
