Michael Cox

Michael Cox, 66-year-old Griggs community resident, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at his residence. 

Michael Glenn Cox was born April 11, 1954 in Guymon to Billy Joe and Elvina Mae (Morris) Cox.  Michael attended school at Plainview schools through the sixth grade then started school in  Stratford, Texas school district graduating with the class of 1972. After high school Michael made his home in the Boise City and Griggs area for most of his life.

Michael was a caring and talented paramedic for over 25 years.  He worked with several ambulance and fire stations throughout the Oklahoma and Texas panhandle. Michael was also an air medic working with several air ambulances across the area.

The past years Michael was usually seen working on the family farm with his father.

He was preceded in death by his mother, his step-mother and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors that he leaves behind are two sons, Jason Cox and wife Jennifer of Perkins, Oklahoma and Dustin Cox and wife Dagan of Goodwell, Oklahoma, one sister, Nakita Brack and husband John of Amarillo, Texas and stepsister Linda Stafford and husband Jack North of Shallowater, Texas. He also leaves one stepbrother Jim Higgins also of Shallowater, Texas.  Michael is also survived by three grandchildren Jaelin, Jordan and Jocelyn Cox.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Boise City with Kim Mizer officiating. Interment will follow at Marella Cemetery.
