Maria Alba Obituary

Maria “Lupe” Alba-Lamas, 86 year old Boise City, Oklahoma resident, Passed away Friday, August 7th, 2020 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

Lupe was born December 30th, 1933 to Carlos Lamas and Macedonia Arjon in Carrillo Puerto Durango, Mexico. She was united in marriage to Pedro Alba and they were blessed with four children Pete, Lidia, Bertha and Angelita. Lupe and Pedro came to the United State in 1970, living on Tapp Ranch north of Boise City, making it their home until 1984.

She was an active member in the Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Boise City, Oklahoma. She did all of the cooking for Sunday school and Vacation Bible School to help the kids have snacks.

Lupe’s love was cooking. Loved having her family around and together no one ever left hungry. She would make Chile Verde, Gorditas and Hot Sauce and would say, “Come in a stranger and leave as a friend”. Lupe will be head cook when she arrives in heaven. She also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, always making beautiful homemade gifts for wedding showers, baby showers and making blankets for friends and all of her grandchildren that will be treasured forever.

Lupe is preceded in death by her loving husband Pedro Alba, her parents Carlos Lamas and Macedonia Arjon, by her five brothers and by her son-in-law Victor Puebla.

Lupe is survived by her son Pete Alba and wife Jeanne of Boise City, Oklahoma and by her three daughters Lidia Puebla of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Bertha (Marie) Tanner and husband Earl of Campo, Colorado and Angelita Harper and husband John of Lindsey, Oklahoma. Her nine grandchildren Pedro C. Alba, Timothy Rick Alba, Alda L. Cobb, Vickie Baeza, Betty Puebla, Veronica Puebla, Amber Tarin, Ewell C. Tanner, Jeremy MacDougall. Along with her thirteen great-grandchildren Lily Cobb, Violet Cobb, Zac Puebla, Vanessa Baeza, Rebekka Baeza, Marcos Serna, Michael Serna, Luciana Berry, Kaylea Berry, Riley Berry, Rizzoli Puebla, Makayla Puebla and Jayden MacDougall.

Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Boise City, Oklahoma.

Rosary service will be held Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Boise City, Oklahoma.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 13th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Church in Boise City, Oklahoma.
