Lloyd Coble Obituary

Lloyd Wayne Coble, 52, Buffalo, Oklahoma resident and longtime Boise City, Oklahoma resident, received his wings of honor to eternal rest on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home with family by his side.

Lloyd was born on March 23, 1966 in Dalhart, Texas and was the fourth child born to Darrel and Clara Coble.  He was raised in Felt, Oklahoma where he graduated in 1984 with honors.  He had many basketball accomplishments and more importantly, numerous life-long friendships, which he always held very dear to his heart.  After graduation, he started his career with Oklahoma Department of Transportation in Cimarron County.  While starting his career with ODOT, he attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell.

In June of 1990, Lloyd met the love of his life, Valerie Miller.  They were married on September 3, 1993.  The Cobles made their home in Boise City.  In 2000, Lloyd was promoted to Supervisor at Cimarron County, ODOT.  He took great pride in his job and this later gave him the opportunity to accept a position in leadership as the Risk Supervisor and the family moved to Buffalo, Oklahoma.

Lloyd’s greatest accomplishment and joy was the birth of his two children.  Christie Makenna was born September 20th, 2001 and Trevor Darrel was born February 4, 2003.  Lloyd had no greater pride than that of his children and it was amazing to witness.  He enjoyed watching them compete in rodeos all over Oklahoma and Texas, and watching them improve with every ride.  He also enjoyed coaching his kids and their basketball teams.  Memories were made at every practice, game and event.

Lloyd took great pleasure in keeping his lawn green like a golf course, and planting trees and flowers.  He was the family historian and could recollect stories for hours.  He shared the Coble family history during the tough Dust Bowl years.  Family and friends brought him great joy and he could visit for hours.  He met people all over and never met a stranger.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Valerie, daughter, MaKenna and son, Trevor of the home; his sister, Tracey Brooks and husband, David of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; two brothers, Keith Coble and wife, Robbie, of Stead, New Mexico, and Charles Coble and wife, Aurora of Clayton, New Mexico, and his beloved niece, Jaci Horton-Smith and husband, Justin, of Allen, Oklahoma, nephew Luke Farris and wife, Amanda along with several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Noreen Stevenson of Boise City, father-in-law Ken Miller and wife Marcia, of Cimarron NM, brother-in-law, Frank Miller and wife, Jennifer of Fairview, Oklahoma, along with a long list of additional family members and friends who he cared for so much.

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Clara Coble, and infant brother, Austin Coble, sister-in-law, Christie Cryer, his father-in-law, Mark Stevenson and a nephew, Russell Coble.
