Kathy Ottinger

Kathy Sue Simon, the only child of James and Greta Simon, was born on July 27, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her school years were spent in Tulsa where she graduated from Will Rogers High School. She also attended Tulsa University for 1 ½ years.

Kathy was very close to her grandmother who made her home with the family from Kathy’s infancy. There were very active in Sequoyah Hills Baptist Church when she was growing up and Kathy gave her life to Jesus during this time. Jimmy moved to Tulsa for work after graduating from Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee with a degree in Diesel Mechanics.

The couple met at Kathy’s church where they fell in love and were married on November 1, 1980. She worked at the Tulsa Police Department for nearly 30 years as a secretary until her eyesight began to fail. The last few years of her life were spent at their home where her health declined. Kathy passed to her heavenly home at the Tulsa Nursing Center on February 15, 2023 at the age of 61 years. She and Jimmy celebrated 42 years together.

She was preceded in death by her parents James and Greta Simon and her grandmother Alsey Brightwell. Her survivors are her husband James Clark Ottinger of Tulsa and his parents Fred and Donna Ottinger of Boise City, 1 sister- in-law Londa Reif and husband Mark of Clayton, New Mexico, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Private Family Services will be held.
