Judy Polson Obituary

Judy Polson, 77 year – old Guymon, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, January 22,
2022, at Memorial Hospital of Texas County.


Judy Diane Clary was born October 22, 1944, in Post, Texas to Ira Alton and Vada Earnestine
(Taylor) Clary.


Judy attended the Post, Texas school system graduating with the class of 1962. After high
school, Judy attended Cisco Jr. College and then graduated from Sul Ross State University in
Alpine, Texas graduating with a BS in Education degree. She met the love of her life while at
Sul Ross, and married Tom Polson on September 10, 1964.


Judy began teaching in Ft. Stockton, then Georgetown, and finished a remarkable career of
teaching at Murfee Elementary in Lubbock ISD, where she taught for 20 years. While there she
taught reading, social studies and writing to many grade levels and was most enthusiastic with
5th and 6th graders.


Tom and Judy made their home in Lubbock, Texas where they attended and were members of
Calvary Baptist Church. Judy was involved in a ladies group that she cherished deeply.


Judy is preceded in death by her parents.


She is survived by her husband, Tom of the home, one son, Mark Shane Polson of San Angelo,
Texas, a daughter, Mindy (Polson) Rogers and husband Lee Rogers of Guymon, Oklahoma, four
grandchildren: Colton Rogers, Tripp Polson, Katlyn Rogers, and Ayden Rogers, one niece:
Whitney Polson, three nephews: Jon Polson, Rink Polson and wife Paige Polson, and Wyatt
Polson. She is also survived by a host of friends.

In lieu of flowers, Nana, Judy Polson, wanted donations to go to a cause that was dear to her
heart. Nana’s wishes were for Dr. Elise May’s (Oncologist Breast Surgeon and Plastic Surgeon)
patients to receive the LOVE and CARE that was extended to her by Dr. May. These donations
will go to help Dr. Elise May’s patients who qualify and are being treated for cancer with the

following.
Gas assistance (for traveling)
Lodging assistance (if traveling)

Cremation services are under the direction of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
