John Miller Obituary

John Miller, 81-year-old Boise City, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, at his residence outside of Boise City.

John Andrew Miller III was born September 27, 1940, in Denton, Texas to John Andrew Miller II and Elsie (Peck) Miller.

John attended the Brighton Colorado school district graduating with the class of 1960. He entered the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1960 till 1967. After being honorably discharged from the Navy John attended Colorado State College graduating with the class of 1969. John graduated from the seminary on May 24, 1973.

On March 22, 1969, John was united in marriage to Anita Schmidt in Ft. Collins Colorado.

John and Anita traveled and served as missionaries in many areas of the world. This was a true gift that they did together.

John was currently Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Boise City, Oklahoma, and Grace Lutheran Church in Dalhart, Texas. John was currently the chaplain of the Boise City VFW.

John was preceded in death by his parents, sister Elaine and brother Harrell Miller.

Left to continue Johns legacy are his wife Anita, of the home, two daughters: Gretchen Pennington and husband Ryan of Atlanta, Georgia, Heather  Zelikov and husband Vitaliy of Long Island, New York, two sons Matthew Miller and wife Eimi of Altadena, California, Aaron Miller and wife Melissa of Westmorland, Kansas, one brother: Jim Miller and wife Jamie of Aurora, Colorado, six grandchildren: Hannah, Andrew, Connor, Nick, Mike and Axel. John is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Dalhart, Texas with Pastor Wescoatt officiating.

Family Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in John’s name to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, Missouri 63141.
