Gary W. James

Gary Wayne James, 60 of Boise City, Oklahoma, passed away on September 14, 2021 after a difficult battle with Covid.

Gary was born on July 14th, 1961, to Harold and Nina James in Guymon Ok. After graduating from Keyes High School, he went on to study Agriculture in Goodwell.

After studying for two years, he went home to Boise City to help his father and mother on their family farm. In 1981 he met Diann Straily and they wed in 1982, going on to have Candis. Gary’s one and only child. He and Diann later divorced in 1988. Gary went onto to meet Debbie Hopson to which they spent over 20 happy years together.

She brought her two daughters Amanda and Shawnelle into his life to which he loved as his own along with all their spouses  Including a special spouse of Amanda; Chad Alvarez that he loved as a son. Amanda and Shawnelle later had children that Gary loved with all his heart and considered them as his own grandchildren. Making a grand total of 10 grands

Gary was a gentle soul determined to make the farm a success for the family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He held his family and friends very dear. No one would ever be turned away. You were family when you came into his life.

Gary was also a passionate angler, and could be found fishing at Lake Texhoma and all over where the fish were biting when winter finally came.

Anyone who knew Gary knew that he was the most loving and generous person you could find. Gary was predeceased by his brother Bill James along with his Mother Nina and father Harold James.

He is survived by his daughter Candi Berguetski and husband Michael; their three children Kaleb, Breezie and Charley. Two sisters: Sue Ford and husband John,  Jan Davis and husband Stan; sister-in-law Barbra James and many other family members.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 23, 2021 from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Henson Novak Funeral Directors in Boise City , Oklahoma

Graveside Services will be held on Friday September 24, 2021 at 10:00 A.M at The Boise City Cemetery
