Fred Brown Obituary


Jewell Fredrick “Buster” Brown Jr., 83-year-old Boise City, Oklahoma resident, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City surrounded by his loving family.


Buster Brown was born February 15, 1939 to Jewell Fredrick Brown Sr. and Ethel Walton Brown in Halstead, Kansas.


Attending Plainview School, Buster graduated with the class of 1957. Buster served honorably with the United States Air Force and served everyone as a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner.


On September 18, 1966, Buster was united in marriage to Cherrie Buckner in Goodwell, Oklahoma.


Before his bachelor’s degree in 1997 and obtaining his real estate license, Buster began and continued farming and ranching in Griggs, Oklahoma and surrounding states.
All that knew him know that a unique, lighthearted, kind, and caring person is gone.


Buster was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sydney Maddux and sisters Frieda Brown, Billie Twombly, and Beverly Asher.


Left in loving memory of Buster is his wife Cherrie and two sons: Travis Brown of Amarillo, Texas and Jason Brown and wife Meredith of Georgetown, Texas, five grandchildren: Chrissy Alexander, Brandon Maddux, Bethany Maddux, Tyler Brown and Tristan Williams, three great-grandchildren, two brothers: Calvin Brown of Oklahoma and John Brown and wife Donna of Boise City, Oklahoma. Buster also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.


Graveside funeral services will take place 10:00 a.m. March 5, 2022, at Marella Cemetery with Kim Mizer officiating. Private family gathering will follow at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
