Everett Durham, 97-year-old Keyes resident passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Everett Van Durham was born in Delaware County Oklahoma to William and Reba Pearl (Hughes) Durham on January 2, 1924. After his formative years he was drafted into the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1944 through 1946. Everett returned home and met and married the love of his life Clara Fern Gardner. To this union they were blessed with five children.
Everett returned home and was engaged in the farming industry working all areas of southwest Kansas and finally working with his son Lee Roy Durham.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Clara, his parents, one son Michael, four brothers Albert, Johnny, Raymond and Billy, three Sisters, Betty, Juanita and Ida. Everett is also preceded by two infant granddaughters, Carla Jan Smith and Brandy Dawn Button.
Everett is survived by his two daughters, Janet Sue Smith of Ulysses, Kansas and Patricia Button and husband Edward of Broken Bow, Nebraska, two sons, Everett LeRoy Durham and wife Ella Marie of Keyes, Oklahoma and Chad Durham and wife Jaynett of Malinta, Ohio. He also leaves behind one sister Sue Kirby and husband Charles of Colcord, Oklahoma. one sister-in-law, Norma Durham of Memphis, Tennessee, one brother, Robert Durham and wife Sue of Cookson, Oklahoma. Everett is also survived by ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Friday, April 23, 2021 at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, 700 West Main, Boise City Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Keyes Church of Christ with Shan Hanes officiating. Interment with military honors will be held following funeral services at Willowbar Cemetery.
