Eldon Perky Obituary

LeRoy Perky, lifelong resident of the Keyes community entered his heavenly home on Thursday, April  22, 2021 at the age of 73.  He was a resident of Morton County  Senior  Living Community since August, 2019.

LeRoy was born in Elkhart, KS on July 18, 1947.  He was the first child of Finis and Lucille (Stewart) Perky. LeRoy grew to adulthood on the family farmstead 7 miles north of Keyes.  He started Keyes School in 1953, he remained in school through the 8th grade.  He helped his father on the family farm during his early years; he later helped area farmers with farm work and did odd jobs for residents  of Keyes.  He enjoyed raising pigs and became quite knowledgeable about the industry. 


LeRoy was very interested in electric power line construction and made friendships with several Tri-County Electric employees.  He even built a mini electric power grid on the farmstead site.  He became quite adept at welding and he engineered numerous items and designs using horseshoes. His favorite pastimes were fishing at Lake Etling, hunting pheasant, interacting  with his numerous friends, and  attending school sporting events.  He worked at the Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop Thrift Store in Boise City, OK for many years.


LeRoy possessed a very jovial personality and always enjoyed being a prankster.  These attributes  won him many friends wherever he went.


LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by one sister,  Loretta Williams of Boise City,  OK, two brothers, Bobby and Darrell of Keyes, OK, one nephew,  Jim L. Williams,  of Pecos, TX, one niece, Tawnya Dunning of Jay, OK, one great-niece, Laekyn Wagoner, and two great-nephews, Quinton Williams and Chandler Williams.  He is also survived by numerous relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation & Funeral Service Details

Visitation for LeRoy will be held on Wednesday April 28th, 2021 from 5:00 P.M till 7:00 P.M at Henson Novak Funeral Directors in Boise City.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 29th, 2021 at 2:00 P.M at The First Baptist Church in Keyes, Oklahoma with interment following after after service at Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes, Oklahoma.

Memorial made be made in LeRoy's name to Panhandle Area Shelter Workshop Thrift Store or to The Willowbar Cemetery Association and can be sent to c/o Henson Novak Funeral Directors P.O. BOX 1306 Guymon, Oklahoma 73942
