Earlene Crews Obituary

Earlene (Whitfield) Crews, 88-year-old Keyes, OK resident, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022, at Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Tx.

Earlene was born at her grandparent’s farmhouse NE of Keyes, OK, to Ervin and Goldie (Hiner) Whitfield on September 27, 1933.

Earlene attended Keyes Schools for twelve years, graduating from Keyes High School with the class of 1951. After graduation, Earlene attended business college in Amarillo, TX, after which she returned home and was employed in the Cimarron County extension office for 2 ½ years.

Earlene married Fred Braxton Crews on October 17, 1954. To this union, three boys were born – Fred Wayne, Larry Ervin, and Dennis Kent. The family made their home in Boise City, OK, until the death of her father when they moved into the farmhouse just west of Keyes.

Earlene was baptized in St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Boise City on November 16, 1958. She later moved her membership to Keyes United Methodist Church on March 22, 1964.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Fred; siblings, JR Whitfield, Earl Whitfield, and Dorothy (Whitfield) Kohler, and son Fred Wayne.

Survivors include her sons Larry and wife Janice of Boise City, OK; Kent and wife Debbie of Keyes, OK; grandchildren: Brock Crews and wife Ashley of Edmond, OK; Katie Shaw and husband Parker of Jenks, OK; Lauren Crews of Dalhart, TX; Megan Crews of Boise City, OK; and Braxton Crews of Boise City, OK; great-grandchildren, Bronson, and Sutton Crews; Penny and Carson Shaw.

Service Details

Visitation will be held at The Henson Novak Funeral Home in Boise City on Friday, March 4th, 2022, from 4:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 5th, 2022, at Keyes United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M with Kim Mizer officiating.
