Dorothy M. Wright former Guymon, Oklahoma and Optima, Oklahoma resident passed away peacefully in the home of her son and daughter in law, Paul and Laraine Wright, in Canon City, Colorado on January 28th, 2020.
Dorothy was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on Saturday August 24th, 1918, she was the daughter of Glenn and Martha Stoops.
She and her husband Jesse Wright were long-time ranchers near Optima, Oklahoma. Dorothy's husband Jesse passed away in 1978
Dorothy was an active member of the Guymon community. She worshipped at The Methodist Church, Dorothy loved being a member of The Cowbells and The Eastern Star and also being a board member for The Pioneer Day parades.
Her hobbies included needlepoint, quilt-making, cooking and an assortment of activities with her many dear friends. She dearly loved Guymon and its people, She had been calling Guymon home for 95 years.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Martha Stoops and her husband Jesse Wright
She is survived by her only child, Paul Wright and his wife Laraine of Canon City, Colorado; her grandchildren, Misti Schilling of Santa Barbara, California, Jesse Wright of Denver, Colorado and Elizabeth Rosser of Huntington, Texas, her nephew, Bryan Wright and his wife Donna of Guymon, Oklahoma and 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy will be brought back to Guymon to be Inurned at Elmhurst Cemetery on Tuesday February 25th, 2020 at 10:00 A.M
Memorial Services for Dorothy will be held on February 25th, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church in Guymon, Oklahoma with Pastor David Player officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, Dorothy's favorite charity was The Salvation Army
Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon, Oklahoma will be in charge of services.
