Delmer Lee Elliott - 84-year-old lifetime resident of Guymon, OK - went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 27, 2022.
Delmer was born to Eva (Mitch) and Ernest Elliott on March 23, 1938 in Guymon, OK. He was raised on the same farm that he would continue to call home for the rest of his life. At age 16, he met the two loves of his life when he decided to attend the Assembly of God church in Guymon. When he entered the building, he met Vancy (Rice) who introduced him to Jesus Christ. He married Vancy on August 2, 1960 and dedicated the rest of his life to following and serving Jesus. Delmer and Vancy were married for 58 wonderful years.
Professionally, Delmer delivered propane for Perkins Petroleum for 30 years. He also farmed and was an avid fisherman, golfer, and chess player. But the activity that he was most passionate about was studying and teaching others about God’s word. It was common for Delmer to study scripture for several hours a day and he was especially well-versed in eschatology and loved to share his knowledge of the scriptures with others. Through the years, he ministered to others in many ways - he led a Royal Rangers troop, helped start multiple Children’s Church programs, and often taught classes/presentations about the Bible at his church, Victory Center.
Delmer is survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Ernest, and his beautiful wife, Vancy.
Graveside funeral services will be Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, OK with Pastor Margaret Mendenhall of Victory Center officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Victory Center Building Fund, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK 73942.
