Carolyn Montoya, 73-year-old Moore, Oklahoma and longtime Hooker, Oklahoma resident passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her residence surrounded by family.
Carolyn Jean Montoya was born January 5, 1950 in Dalhart, Texas to Paul and Cecilia (Vigil) Hidalgo.
Carolyn was raised in Dalhart, Texas and attended Dalhart Public Schools.
She was united in Marriage to Robert Montoya on May 31, 1969 in Clayton, New Mexico. This union was blessed with three children, Robby, Carmel and Philip.
She worked as a caregiver, taking care of several people over the years.
Carolyn worked many, many years as an EMT and firefighter for the town of Hooker.
In recent years she enjoyed crafting and would not turn down a cold Dr. Pepper if it were offered, but her family time is what she cherished the most.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Richard Hidalgo, one sister: Patsy, three nephews Conrad Hidalgo, James Hidalgo and Dustin Lewis, one niece Dedie Taylor.
She is survived by her husband Robert of the home, one Daughter Carmel Henson and husband Jeremy of Houston, Texas, two sons: Robby Montoya and wife Kristi of Moore, Oklahoma and Philip Montoya and wife Ashley of Moore, Oklahoma, three sisters: Paulette Taylor and husband Randy of Duncan, Oklahoma, Becky Hidalgo of Elmore City, Oklahoma and Rosie Bolles and husband Larry of Duncan, Oklahoma, two brothers: Ronnie Hidalgo and wife Joan of Elmore City, Oklahoma and Paul Hidalgo and wife Kim of Hooker, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren: Hunter, Hannah, Chelsea, Dakota, Dedra, Justin, Devyn, Emily, Jacob, Elliana and Mason, four great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Kinsley, Kennedy and Cooper. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will take place 12:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hooker, Oklahoma with Rev. Joseph Schwarz officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hooker, Oklahoma Cemetery.
