Blake Wells Obituary

Blake Wells
Blake Allan Wells was born July 25, 1986 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Mary Overstreet and Clint Wells. He joined his older brother, Rodney Crane and was followed by two younger sisters, Shandi and Destiny.

He passed away on December 18, 2021 at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas from complications from Covid at the age of 35.

Blake was a big ole boy with an easy laugh and a drive to help people. He used his expertise in computers, the internet, and I phones to help anybody with problems and improvements. He would move heavy things for people and reach stuff on a high shelf. Those of us who depended on his help will miss him terribly. His legacy will live on in his children in whom he and Ashley instilled a work ethic and responsibility beyond their years.

Blake dearly loved his family. He met Ashley Gardner on December 16, 2006, and they were married on August 9, 2008. The union was blessed by five children, Abigail-13, Trenton-12, twins, Reaha and Rebeka-10, and Amanda-8. When he was asked why they had so many children, he would say “We didn't have HBO". Blake loved adventures, camping, working, scouting, and Rotary.

He was an unlikely computer nerd that taught his teachers the technology when he was a freshman in high school. He worked a job, went to school, and did side jobs, all at the same time. He enjoyed music, memes, and Tik Tok. He even got Mike Barnes, unfortunately addicted to Tik Tok. He would often be seen sitting in a vehicle at the news office, body shop, or Toot N Totem, looking at his phone. He was suppose to be doing research and putting the newspaper together, but often times he was sending inappropriate memes and videos he found on Tik Tok to his wife and friends with hearty chuckle. He claimed that being a trophy husband was exhausting. He was sarcastic and stubborn and loved picking on his “short' cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roy Overstreet, Art Harryman, and Josie and Bill Wells, step brother Tyler West, cousins Terry Rice, Jayde Rodriquez, Michael Overstreet, Bradley Begley and Jeffrey Rice and Uncles Robert Rodriquez and Pat Timberlake and Aunt Amanda Wells.

He is survived by his wife Ashley and their five children of the home, his mother Mary Overstreet of Stratford,Texas, brother Rodney of Ulysses, KS, and sisters Shandi of Stratford, TX, and Destiny of Oklahoma City, Grandmother June Harryman of Stratford, TX, many aunts and cousins, nieces, and nephews, and host of friends.

It has been reported, yet not confirmed that his last words were "Let's Go Brandon".
