Billy Walker, 70-year-old, lifelong resident of Cimarron County passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Cimarron Memorial Hospital in Boise City, Oklahoma.
Billy Gerald Walker was born May 26, 1952, in Clayton, New Mexico to Gerald and Catherine Darlene (Pettis) Walker.
He attended Felt Public School System graduating with the class of 1970.
After graduation Billy entered The United States Navy where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War where he obtained the rank of Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.
Upon returning home Billy worked as a meat cutter.
On April 29, 1977, he was united in marriage to Janet McEwen in Clayton, New Mexico.
This union was blessed with four children.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife Janet, parents, Gerald and Darlene Walker and siblings JoAnn Trowbridge and Kent Walker.
He leaves behind to carry on his legacy Three Daughters: Tammy Swinburne and husband Talk of Pocasset, Oklahoma, Taryn Broaddus of Boise City, Oklahoma and Joni Bagwell and husband Michael of Boise City, Oklahoma, one son: Justin Mulanax and husband Mark of Amarillo, Texas. One sister: Cheryl Shalbot of Osage Beach, Missouri; one brother Jerry Walker and wife Sherlyn of Boise City, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren: Luke, Heather, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Jacob, Tegan, Addison, and Tyleigh, one great-grandchild: Evangeline and one on the way, Merritt. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Memorials may be left in care of the Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Cimarron County Hospital in care of the nurses. Funds are to go to where the nurses need or want them. Memorials may also go to VFW Post #7092.
