William Ivan Goodloe passed from this life Sept. 30th 2022 from complications of Alzheimer's disease.
William (Bill) was born on Sept. 18th 1952 to Richard Glenn Goodloe and Iris Arlene McHenry Goodloe in Lamar Colorado. At the age of 3 Bill's family moved to rural Guymon, OK. Bill was a lifelong farmer. He and his father grew wheat, milo, corn and later sunflowers and cotton. Farming was his whole life; he never wanted any other job.
Bill graduated from Guymon High School with the class of 1970. At 6'4" you would have thought he'd been a star basketball player, but he was all legs. He enjoyed watching professional and college basketball, pro and college football.
Bill and Mary Ann Teel were wed on March 14th, 1981 in Hugoton, KS. The couple was blessed with 3 sons who have followed Bill's love of farming.
He loved his 60's and 70's Rock and Roll. The last 3 years of his life his music was so important to him. He said some of the old songs made him emotional. It had a calming effect of him. His favorite radio station was 106.7 FM classic rock out of Hugoton KS. A while back he decided to drive to Ulysses, KS to the station to tell them how much he loved that station.
Bill had a dry sense of humor that came out occasionally to surprise the recipient and get a chuckle. He loved his sons more than life and would play on the floor with them when they were little. They grew up at his knee on a tractor, combine or grain truck. He rarely spoke harshly or in anger but the boys knew when he was upset with them.
He loved his nieces and nephews and was much loved for his gentleness and fun spirit. He loved playing pinocle and Uno with his dad and brother's in-law at holiday gatherings.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary Ann of the home, sons Keith, Kevin and Kyle of rural OK, one sister Janice Allen (Larry) of Clinton, OK. Aunt Betty Jane Baldwin of Osage Beach, MO and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Iris, his sister Joyce Holland, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
