Calvert Andrew “Andy” Hoel, 64 year old lifelong Gruver, Texas resident passed away Tuesday November 26th, 2019 at Memorial Hermann Facility surrounded by his loved ones in The Woodlands, Texas.

The son of Ina Lillian (Mackie) and O.J. Hoel, Andy Hoel was born February 9th, 1955 in Perryton, Texas at Ochiltree Tree Hospital. Andy attended Gruver Schools and graduated with the class of 1973, he then went on to attend college at Texas Tech University. Andy was united in marriage to Phyllis on March 12th, 1983 at The Oslo Lutheran Church in Gruver, Texas. To this union they were blessed with four children.

Andy was an avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed doing activities which included many friends, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In 1995 Andy began working for Farmers Insurance and then proceeded to start his own agency, which he sold on October 31st, 2019 of this year. He was also involved with Plains All American from January 2013 until his passing.

Andy is preceded in death by his mother Ina, his father O.J. and one daughter Gina Hoel.

Andy is survived by his wife and Love of his life of 36 years Phyllis Hoel, Daughter Jill May and husband Jason May of Idalou, Texas, their children – Kylan May, Drew May and Fiancé Felicia Card, Also Andy’s first great-grandson, Ryker May, Daughter Lauren Hartnett and husband Matt Hartnett of Wimberley, Texas, Son Jarrod Hoel and wife Samantha Hoel of Abernathy, Texas, their children - Maddie Hoel, Jess Hoel and Jaxson Hoel, one sister - Glenda Riley and husband Danny Riley of Georgetown, Texas and one brother Mack Hoel and wife Darlene Hoel of Gruver, Texas.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 1st, 2019 from 3:00 P.M till 5:00 P.M. at Gruver United Methodist Church.

Interment will take place Monday December 2nd, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at The Gruver Cemetery.

Memorial Services will be held Monday December 2nd, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at The Gruver High School Auditorium in Gruver, Texas.
