Aline Couch Obituary

Ruby Aline Couch, longtime resident of Guymon, Oklahoma died September 4, 2021 at the age of 98 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Aline was born to Lula and Theo Wood on May 24, 1923 in Guymon, Oklahoma. She graduated from Guymon High School and worked in her community at Jackson Drug Store, Zellers Jewelry and later at Couch Clinic.

Soon after graduating from high school, she met and married Robert Nickey and they started a family on James Street, where she took pride in her yard and was the honored recipient of Yard of the Month multiple times. Several couples were married in her backyard and were able to enjoy the beauty of her hard work. Aline was a devoted wife, mother, meme and auntie. She was a superb entertainer, gardener and cook! Holidays with her family were some of her most cherished times. Her grandchildren, nieces and nephews looked forward to her famous Easter Egg Hunt on the hill in her backyard. She later married, Morris Couch and together, they visited 6 continents and numerous different countries which she documented with her detailed stories and photo albums. However, no matter wherever she traveled, home was her favorite place to be.  Arrowhead hunting and collecting Indian artifacts in Taos, New Mexico, along with making memories with her friends and family at their cabin in Angel Fire were among many of her most joyous times.  Anyone who knew her knew that she loved shopping at Walls, which she lovingly referred to as "her" store. You could often find her hunting a bargain and organizing the shelves.

Aline is survived by her son, Robert Allen Nickey and grandchildren, Sterling (Chris) Connell, Gant (Kelly) Nickey, great-grandchildren Keller Nickey, Cooper and Landry Connell all of Las Vegas, Nevada. Step-son, Steve (Carolina) Couch, of Wichita, Kansas grandchildren Chloe Couch, Conor (Connie) Couch of Liberty, Missouri. Step-daughter, Marylynn (Albert) Erdman, of Guymon, Oklahoma,  grandchildren, Kasey (Jeff) Meyer, of Texhoma, Oklahoma great-grandchildren, Nicole Evans, Joshua Meyer.
