Albert Overbay Obituary

Albert Lee Overbay, 88 year old resident of Boise City, Oklahoma passed away on April 1st, 2020.

He was born in Watkins, Colorado and was raised in Clayton, New Mexico.  He met and married Mearl House in 1947 and to this union two sons were born, Terry and Tom. 

Lee enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1953 to 1955 in Michigan where he met and married Patricia Laraway on October 1, 1955.  Lee and Pat moved to Boise City, OK in 1955 and made it their home. To this union two children were born, Tammy and Tracy.

Lee learned the dry cleaning business and ran Lee's Cleaners until his retirement in 2006.  He was also a volunteer EMT for Cimarron County EMS from 1972 until 2013 and was their Director from 1984 until 2013.  Lee married Lena Dee Boyd on December 17, 1992 and to this union came two stepsons Lloyd and Floyd Boyd.  

He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and solving cross word puzzles... any free time he had, he enjoyed his TV programs, such as, All in the Family, Gunsmoke and other Old Westerns and The Lawrence Welk Show. 

Lee is proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Overbay, his first wife, Mearl House and 2nd wife, Patricia Laravoy. His two brothers, Charles Overbay and Raymond Overbay and his granddaughter, Darlene Smith.

He is survived by his wife Dee Overbay of the home, his daughter, Tammy and her husband Brad Bird of Meade, Kansas. His sons Terry Overbay of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tom Overbay of Albuquerque, New Mexico Tracy Overbay and wife Jean of Albuquerque, New Mexico and his 2 step sons, Lloyd Boyd and wife Laura of Winnsboro, Texas and Floyd Boyd of Oklahoma. His 18 grandchildren, Cindy Overbay, Melanie Overbay, Neil Overbay, Melissa Province, Lindsey Bird, Ryan Bird, Trisha Keahey, Landon Bird, Bradon Bird, Logan Bird, Cameron Overbay, Connor Overbay, Christian Overbay, Carter Overbay, Sabrina Boyd, Craig Boyd, Hailey Boyd and Graig Boyd. Along with 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 4th, 2020 at the 1st Baptist Church in Boise City with Pastor Trevor Bulls officiating. Due to the current covid-19 virus mandate by the state the service will be a private family service.
