It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bud Edenborough, The greatest Husband, Daddio, Grandpa, and Kokopa who was granted his last wish to go to his heavenly home on September 10, 2025. As much as we will miss the wonderful man he was, he is now completely healed, and reunited with his boys.
Nigel Duane Edenborough was born on October 11, 1937, in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Nick and Dean Edenborough. Bud was known for his quick wit, his intellectual acuity, and his caring nature. His life was a testament to the quote, "The true measure of a man is how he treats someone who can do him absolutely no good." - Samuel Johnson. Bud never failed to extend his kindness to everyone he met, irrespective of what they could offer him in return.
Bud was a dedicated public servant who devoted his life to the field of education. He taught School in Holly, Colorado. He was superintendent, teacher and coach at Edison School District in Yoder, Colorado. He was also President of the Pueblo Business College. After many years of being an educator, he accepted a job with Hofferber Construction in 1975 to be closer to family. He was also a salesman for Acme Brick, and in 2005, he retired as a Salesman from Southdown Cement Co.
His commitment to his work was as strong as his love for his hobbies, which included golf, woodworking, trout fishing, and camping. In his retirement, he loved nothing more than watching his granddaughter, Taylor, play in GHS Golf Tournaments. He was her biggest fan and traveled to many of her tournaments until his health declined her senior year. He started taking her golfing with him, when she was only six months old. He bought Taylor, her first set of clubs when she was two, he loved his granddaughter more than life itself and eventually becoming Kokopa to his three great-grands was the icing on the cake. He loved those little ones so very much.
A fervent Denver Bronco and Oklahoma Sooner fan, Bud's love for sports was infectious, spreading to everyone around him. In his later years, Bud found great joy in his retirement, using his time to engage in his hobbies and spend time with his loved ones.
Bud is survived by his beloved bride, Cleva Melton Edenborough, Cleva was his everything, they met in High School, and they were married on May 26, 1957, they were together for 71 years and loved each other fiercely until the end.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Edenborough, and his mother, Dean Edenborough, two sons: Steve in 1983 and Curt in 2009, two brother- in-laws Larry Melton and Jack Ooley, two sisters-in-law Betty Melton and Jane Melton.
Left to carry on his legacy is one daughter: Becky Chase, one granddaughter- Taylor Coffman, two great granddaughters: Emma and Sawyer Coffman, one grandson: Holden Coffman, brother and sister-in-law: Russell Edenborough and wife Judy, sister: Beverly Ooley and brother-in-law: Harrold Melton. Bud is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
