Bob Bartz, 77 year old longtime Guymon, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
The son of Edith Irene (Mabra) and Freeland Owen Bartz, William Robert Bartz was born November 15, 1940 in Grimes, Oklahoma. The Bartz family moved to Spearman, Texas, where Bob graduated from Spearman High School. He moved to Guymon, where he met the love of his life, Sonia Rae Rice. Sonia and Bob were married July 1, 1966 in Guymon. Bob worked for the City of Guymon for many years, retiring as a supervisor in 2005. Bob and Sonia opened their home to more than 35 foster children, giving them the gifts of love, stability and affection. Bob was a hard worker, enjoyed vegetable gardening and coin collecting. He wasn’t much of a coffee drinker, but he always enjoyed his coffee buddies at the Ambassador. Bob moved to Edmond after Sonia passed away, so he could be closer to his children and grandchildren.
