Ronnie Ballard

Ronnie Joe Ballard, 69 years of age, was born July 13, 1949 at Meridian, Texas to JW and Annie Ballard. Ronnie lived in Guymon, Oklahoma for 48 years.  Ronnie went home to join his Lord and Savior, peacefully in his sleep, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.  In January of 1967, Ronnie married Sherrill Susan Maddox. To this union, three children were born, Susan Annitte, Ronnie Charles and Justin Wayne.  Sherry preceded him in death in 1978.  On October 22, 1978, Ronnie married Billie Sue Maddox and her three boys, Heath D’Wayne, Clayton Britch and Jay Quint. 

Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Guymon and enjoyed serving the Lord through the bus ministry for many years.  Billie Sue and Ronnie loved going from home to home picking up children and youth to take them to learn about our Lord and Savior. 

Ronnie moved to Guymon at the age of 18 to work for Swift Meat packing plant till its closure.  After his venture with Swift, he worked for Mobil Oil and Gas for 15 years.  After working in the oil field, he went to work for the City of Guymon in 1997, retiring in July of 2016. He spent his retirement watching westerns, working in his garden, tending his chickens, working goats, and just enjoying life in general.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JW and Annie Ballard, and his first wife, Sherry Ballard.

He leaves behind his wife, Billie Ballard of Guymon, Ok, his children, Susan and Keith Rogers of Groveton, TX, Ronnie and Kathy Ballard of Brookfield, MO, Heath and Kathy Maddox of Brady, NE., Britch and Erica Maddox of Guymon, Justin Ballard of Enid, OK, Jay Maddox of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren,  Kevin and Ashely Williams, Grace Amber Svoboda, Blain and Carson Ballard; Brandon and Erin Ballard, Blair and Aaron Plum; Jon Maddox, Bailey and Dylon Blagdon, Paxton and CJ Cavin, Kaitlynn and Matt Cassady; Payton Maddox; Mercedes Bradford, Rylie Ballard and Chloe Ballard; great grandchildren, Triniti Williams, Kira Williams, Braydon Prescott, Kylie Williams, Gracelyn Svoboda, Collin Svoboda, Wyatt Ballard, Lillie Ballard, Kinley Ballard, Charlie Ballard, Ollie Cavin, Audrey Holmes and the little Blagdon baby on the way.   He is also survived by his siblings, Don and Carolyn Ballard of Wichita Falls, TX, Michael and Novelice Ballard of Denison, TX, Doyla Moore of Lubbock, TX, and Teddy and Trisha Ballard of Lubbock, TX; and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 2201 N Lelia Street, Guymon, with Pastor Michael Carter, officiating.  Cremation and arrangements are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.
