Mike O. Asher

Mike O. Asher, 76 year old Cimarron County farmer and rancher, passed away Wednesday morning, December 11, 2019 in Amarillo, Texas. 

The son of Anne Mae and -- step father Frank Asher--, Mike Owen Asher was born August 20, --1943 in --Stamps, Arkansas.  In 1953  Mike moved from --Stamps , Arkansas to the Griggs community in Cimarron County, Oklahoma.  He was united in marriage to Beverly Brown on December 16, 1962 at the Marella Church.  Beverly and Mike made their home in Griggs and Mike farmed and ranched.  Mike enjoyed-- fishing in Tennessee at cross -eyed cricket with Mikyla and also loved to spend time with his family and friends, playing dominoes, bingo and gambling.  Mike liked-- old cars especially 1957 Chevys and --collecting U.S. made Case knives.  --The last several years he and granddaughter, Morgan, enjoyed mowing  at the Marella Church and Plainview School.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Sam Asher, and his beloved wife, Beverly who passed away in 2015.

He is survived by  his two daughters, Michelle Asher Smith, (Miles Clay Smith) of Texhoma, Oklahoma, and Melissa Asher, (Lisa Beighle) of Walland, Tennessee, a brother, Tommy Asher (Becky) of Stratford, Texas; and two granddaughters, Mikyla Smith of Norman, Oklahoma and Morgan Smith of Texhoma.

Visitation will be Friday, December 13th, 3-7:00 PM at Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Boise City.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 14th, 1:00 PM at the Marella Church  ----  with Pastor David Jenkins officiating ---   Interment will follow at Marella Cemetery with services entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.
