Lucile Hart Obituary

Emma Lucile Hart, 97 longtime Boise City resident passed away Friday morning October 19th 2018 at her home.

Emma Lucile (Patterson) Hart the daughter of James Overton Patterson and Katie Etta Emaline (Bell) Patterson was born July 14th, 1921 on her parent’s farm in the Wilkins Community which was on the Oklahoma and Texas State line. Lucile had 4 brothers and 2 sisters Bonnie Dolores, William Durward, James Odell, James Norvell, Cora Mae Pearl and Roy Earl.

Lucile said that some of her childhood memories were playing games that were simple but fun and riding her little pony named “IKE”. He was lazy but could get in a run if needed.

Lucile attended Prairie View School from the 1st grade through the 8th grade. Dolores, Durwood and Norvell rode to school horseback. In 1927 the school district got their first school bus, it was a long ride as the bus did not have a heater. Then in the fall of 1935 the family moved to Boise City to allow them to attend school in Boise City. On June 28th, 1936 Lucile was baptized. Lucile graduated from Boise City High School in 1939.

Lucile met the love of her life, Ralph Paul Hart, after moving to Boise City. Ralph and Lucile loved to go rabbit hunting and that is where Lucile learned to shoot a gun and she shot a gun very well.

Ralph and Lucile were married at the Baptist Church Parsonage in Guymon, Oklahoma on May 25, 1941.

Lucile worked for Doctor Harry Hall for about a year doing general office work. Ralph and Lucile bought the Boise City Creamery and ran it for a few years and after they sold it she worked for Mrs. Ruth Graham in the Graham Insurance Agency. She then worked for Janett Stubblefield during tag season and for Veta Burghart also in the Vehicle Tag Agency. After Mrs. Burghart retired Lucile became the Vehicle Tag Agent on March 16th 1964. She served the county as the Cimarron County Vehicle Tag Agent until her retirement on July 1st, 1985. During those years she also issued commodities for Cimarron County. Lucile enjoyed spending time with her much loved family, but also enjoyed quilting at home and the Senior Citizens, mowing and yardwork. On April 10th 2016 the church celebrated their 100 anniversary and Lucile was recognized for being the oldest member of the First Baptist Church.

Lucile was blessed with four children, Paula Jean, Catherine Sue, Guy Dewayne (Buck) and Celia Carrol.

Lucile’s granddaughters remembered that when they were little they would paint her fingernails and put facial cream on her face. They also loved to wear her red shoes and play dress up.

Lucile was preceded in death by her, two sisters, Bonnie James and Cora Mae Pearl Morrison, four brothers, William Durward Patterson, James Norvelle Patterson, James Odell Patterson, and Roy Earl Patterson, her late husband Ralph Hart, son Guy (Buck) Hart, granddaughter Melody Urban and husband Ritson Urban, grandson in law Gary Reed, and great granddaughter Danika Dee Reed.

Lucile is survived by three daughters, Paula White and husband, Bob, of Boise City, Catherine Sue Edgington of Tonkawa, OK, and Celia Carrol Johnson and husband, Stan of Roswell, NM; and daughter in law Mary Hart; 14 grandchildren, Rod White, Royce White and wife Melissa, Starla Reed, Rick Edgington, Paul Edgington, Phil Edgington, Kristy Duvall and husband Devon, Debbie Hart, Brandon Johnson and wife Katie, Dude Meister, Joey Meister, Jimmy Meister, Kevin Meister, and Cheryl and Danny Martin. Lucile was blessed with 12 great grandchildren,  Kashen Rance Urban, Kamden Rayce Urban, Kailen Rayle Urban, Garrett Edgington, Kelsey Noel Reed, Kelby John Reed, Kanisha Renee Birt and husband Dakota, Kassie Denee Reed, Syndey Christine Duvall, Macy Kate Duvall, Cody Chase White, Kaiser Dean White; six great-great grandchildren, Carter Anistyn Urban, Paisley Ann Reed, Payton Aaron Reed, Hunter Wayne Reed, Cameron Blake Birt, Serenity Jane Reed.

She was blessed the last 4 years with wonderful care givers, Cindy Aycock, Lola Ellsworth, Kathleen Begley, Lois Cayton, Bob White, Paula White and Starla Reed.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, October 22nd, 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 103 N Cimarron, Boise City, with Pastor Trevor Bulls, officiating.  Interment will follow in Boise City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Boise City and Guymon.
