Dear Jim, Cynthia, Brandon, Heath, and families:
Our words are not adequate to express the sorrow we feel for all of you. We do, however, echo the words of comfort found in the scripture cited in Katelyn's life story (I Thessalonians 4:13 & 14)--words so powerful--so perfect. And just as Christ rose defeating death early Easter morning, my each sunrise remind you of the promise of heaven--no more pain, no more sorrow, no more parting.
"Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted" Matthew 5:4.

I met Katelyn at church camp and later on served as a counselor while she was the wet-rec leader at that same camp. I never got to know her closely, but I remember that she was completely in love with Jesus and always lived for Him. She truly let God use her life in even simple ways. She was brilliantly smart and also hilarious! She is such an example of what truly following Christ looks like. I’m sorry for your loss, and I pray that God comforts your family.

We have lost one of our very own. We grieve with you and pray with almost every breath for your peace and comfort. There are moments of overwhelming disbelief...especially when I can still hear in my head her contagious laughter this summer when you came to visit. What a jewel of a woman she is. How Anna and I will cherish those moments we spent with her...and Joe only shares rocks with those whom he most admires! Our deepest love to you all.

Katelyn could light up any room she entered. I will miss her contagious smile, her quick wit, and sweet voice. This is such a total shock and a huge loss to our church family and community. Jim and Cynthia, I can't begin to tell you how devastated I was to hear of katelyns passing. I will be praying for you guys, I know this was a shock and I can't begin to imagine the pain you're feeling right now. But as Christians it does our hearts good to know where Katelyn is today. And I know that we're all left with a hole in our hearts and praying God will somehow fill it one day.
