JoAnn Stevens Scott, 86, longtime Guymon resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Spring Hill, Kansas.

JoAnn was born March 24, 1930 to Geneva (Priddy) and Wesley Stevens in Hutchinson, Kansas.  Joann graduated from Hutchinson High School and after worked for Kress Department Store after graduation.  She was united in marriage to Robert Lee (Bob) Scott on November 6, 1949 in Hutchinson.  Bob and JoAnn moved to Guymon in 1950. 

Besides being a stay-at-home Mom, JoAnn was active in her church at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church and in the community, attending and supporting the activities for her three daughters, and later for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  In her Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, Sunday school superintendent, and on various committees in the church and in United Methodist Women.  In the community, JoAnn served for many years as the Nut and Cookie Chairperson for the Yucca Girl Scout Council; she also worked for the Election Board.  JoAnn helped Bob in his work with Boy Scout troop activities, which consisted of selling Christmas trees and fireworks.  She worked part-time for the Buccaneer Stamp store and later the Gunn Brothers Stamp store.

Survivors include her three daughters and their husbands, Judy and Richard Mason of Olathe, KS; Beverly and Michael Womack of Oklahoma City, OK; and Shirley and Chip Laubach of Woodward, OK.  She was Grandma to Brian Mason of Overland Park, KS; Shawn and Jamee Mason of Eudora, KS; Amy (Mason) and Caleb Wells of Spring Hill, KS; Tyler Laubach of Holdenville, OK; Zak Laubach of Guymon; and Heath Laubach of Woodward.  She was Grandma Jo to four great-granddaughters, Karis and Oakley Mason and Kaydence and Makynna Wells.  JoAnn is also survived by an uncle, Bob Priddy and his wife, Ellen, of Wharton, TX; two sisters-in-law, Anne Scott of Guymon and Patricia Pearcy of Auburn, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Cecelia and Albert Scott; her husband; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Mitchusson; and her brothers-in-law, John Scott, Claud Mitchusson and Charles Pearcy.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, November 7th, 10:00 AM at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, 523 North Roosevelt, with Rev. Gary Holdeman and Rev. Shannon Davis, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family will be at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon, from 4:00-6:00 PM on Sunday for visitation.
