Jo Baugh Obituary

Elizabeth Jo Baugh, 70, long time Texhoma resident, passed away Monday afternoon, March 19, 2018 at the Heritage Community, Guymon, Oklahoma.

The daughter of Clara Belle (Gaddy) and William Freeman, she was born May 27, 1947 in Amarillo, Texas.  Jo attended school in Sunray, Texas and on  April 17, 1965, Jo married the love of her life, Dwight Dean Baugh in Sunray.  Jo was a wonderful wife and mother,  She was involved in her children’s activities and was a Girl Scout leader for several years.  She was instrumental in organizing the memorial program at the Texhoma Cemetery and  had worked as city secretary for the City of Texhoma.  Jo was a member of the Texhoma United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women. 

Dwight and Jo were married almost 53 years, with Dwight passing away February 15th, 2018,

Jo is survived by her daughter, Dana Baethge of Harper, Texas; two sisters-in-law,  Pat and husband Bud Trujillo of Goodwell, Oklahoma and Chaquita Grice of Waco, Texas, one brother-in-law, Duane and wife Ida of Texhoma. She was the beloved “Mama” to her grandchildren Keevan Eldridge, Kendall Baethge, Kamrynn Baethge and Karsann Baethge.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Wilma Ruth Owen, brother, William (Bill) Freeman, her daughter, Deana Baugh Mungia, son, Randy Mark Baugh, and her beloved husband, Dwight.

Funeral services will be Friday morning, March 23rd, 10:00 AM at Texhoma United Methodist Church,   with Rev. Dave Jenkins, pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Texhoma Cemetery. 

Visitation will be at the Texhoma United Methodist Church on Thursday evening, 6-7:30 PM.

Memorials may be given to the Texhoma UMW or the charity of choice, c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O. Box 1306, Guymon, OK  73942.
