Elizabeth Forthman Obituary

Elizabeth M. Forthman, 91, passed away July 1, 2019 at Keyes, Oklahoma.

The daughter of Edith (Smith) and Don Richard Clarke, Elizabeth McClaran Clarke was born on January 12, 1928 in Lexington, Kentucky.  She was united in marriage to Clayton Grimes Forthman on December 27, 1949 in Sherman, Texas.  The Forthman family lived in Paris, Texas and Hugo and Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Elizabeth raised her family, volunteered in her community and church.  She owned a ceramic shop in Hugo for many years and volunteered for the hospital auxiliary.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  Mr. Forthman passed away in 1998.  Elizabeth had been living with her son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Margaret Forthman in Keyes, Oklahoma, when she passed.

She is survived by her children; daughter, Cheryl Johnson (Galen) of Savannah, Missouri, two sons, Carl Forthman (Julie) of Norman, OK and Clarence Forthman (Margaret) of Keyes; her sister, Edith Sheets of Albuquerque, NM and brother, John Clarke of Louisburg, Kansas.  She was blessed with many wonderful grandchildren, great and great-great- grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Charles Forthman, and daughter, Madeline Williams.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 3, 2019, 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E Jackson, Hugo, Oklahoma.  Burial of cremains will be in Mount Olivet Cemetey.
