Dwight D. Baugh, 73 year old Texhoma resident, passed away Thursday February 15, 2018 at his residence.
The son of Lawrence Eugene Baugh and Audie (Kundert) Baugh, Dwight was born April 13, 1944 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Dwight was reared in Texhoma and attended the Texhoma schools graduating with the class of 1962. He attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 1963.
On April 17, 1965 Dwight married the love of his life Jo Freeman in Sunray, Texas.
On October 7, 1966 Dwight joined the United States Army and served his country for two years. He returned home in 1968 and went to work for Texhoma Wheat Growers. He was employed there for 27 years. Dwight started Dwight Baugh trucking company in 1995 and worked until his illness prevented it.
When Dwight wasn’t working he loved spending time with his family. He also liked to fish, cook and entertain family and friends.
Dwight was a very active member for many years on the cemetery board in Texhoma.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife of 52 years and 10 months, Jo Baugh of the home, one daughter Dana Baethge of Harper, Texas, two sisters Pat and husband Bud Trujillo of Goodwell, Oklahoma and Chaquita Grice of Waco, Texas, one brother Duane and wife Ida of Texhoma. He is also survived by grandchildren Keevan Eldridge, Kendall Baethge, Kamrynn Baethge and Karsann Baethge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in law William and Clara Bell Freeman, one son Randy Mark Baugh in 1965, one daughter Deana Rachel’ Baugh in 2010 and one great nephew Brandon Duane Baugh in 1994.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at The First United Methodist Church in Texhoma with Pastor David Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Texhoma.
Visitation will take place from 11:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. at the church prior to service.
