Cora Mary (Padilla) Weston

Cora Weston, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2016 at Porter Adventist Hospital in Denver, Colorado. 

The daughter of Mary Ann (Gomez) and Emilio Padilla, Cora Mary Padilla was born March 6, 1937 in Denver, Colorado.  She was married to Alphonso Maestas and they reared their children and lived in Hugoton, Kansas for many years.  Cora worked as a nurse in the Hugoton Nursing Home.  Mr. Maestas passed away in 1998.    Cora moved to Guymon, where she lived for the past twelve years and had just moved back to the Denver area.  She was married to Charlie Weston and he passed away several years ago.  She was a wonderful mother, sister and friend.  Her faith and family were so very important to her.

She is survived by three daughters, Christine Palmer and husband, Mark, of Aurora, Colorado;  Juanita Hamilton and husband, Ken of Amarillo, Texas; and Rebecca Maestas of Guymon; two sons, Anthony Maestas of Clayton; Phillip Maestas and wife, Sabrina of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters, Viola Martinez and husband, Benny of Bell Gardens, California; Louise Bueno and husband, Solomon, of Denver;  and Judy Shaver and husband, Bob of Weldonia, Colorado; one brother, Joe Padilla and wife, Minerva of Westminster, Colorado; and her mother-in-law, Pita Maestas.   She is also survived by 10 adoring grandchildren, Marcus Fuqua, Olivia Maestas, Brandon Coronado, Victoria Soto, Dennis Palmer, Dominic Maestas, Alexander Maestas, Lilly Maestas, Tyra Shelton and Kristi Hamilton; and seven great grandchildren, Denyse Shante Martinez, Julissa Soto, Adrian Maestas, Jayah Rogers, Gazal, Parker and Merric; and one great-great granddaughter, Marlene Perez.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a grandsons, Nick Fuqua who died in 2011; three sisters, Gloria Langford, Dorothy Vasquez and Sally Rodriguez; and a brother, Johnny Padilla. 

Visitation and viewing will be at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth, Guymon, on Sunday, June 11th from 2:00-7:00 PM. 

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, June 12th, 2:00 PM at Panhandle Bible Center, 1901 North Lelia, Guymon with Jim Jamieson, pastor, officiating.   Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.
